The real issue lost in the events of the past week is the hijacking of the rule of law and using intimidation tactics to frighten those who these extremists disagree with. The police officers, health care providers and social workers involved in the child welfare case were simply following the law in order to protect a 10-month-old in imminent danger because of his parents’ neglect of his basic needs.
As the elected sheriff of Ada County for 10 years with more than 30 years in law enforcement, I hope Idahoans will see Ammon Bundy for what he is: a bully and a con artist.
It seems to me that way too many people have forgotten what the BLM Terrorists did to the Bundy family not so many years ago.
He has the right to be who he is now.
I agree ! some of Idaho’s “laws’ need to be changed where children are concerned. Idaho’s welfare laws go to far in several instances and are to greedy to take children away from their families.

Could not agree more. CPS doesnt not take children away from parents lightly. Jumping in without knowing the facts like these people did is irresponsible and just plain stupid.
I respectfully disagree with the former Sheriff. Bundy’s actions were a normal response to a discretionary action, which was in my opinion an overreaction by health care providers. A parent should be able to seek answers to a medical conundrum, without the possibility of being accused of child neglect and/or endangerment, arrest, or removal of one’s child. My own family went through a similar experience because of an overzealous pediatrician who refused to listen. The issue was resolved when a knowledgeable pediatrician was consulted.
From the far eastern part of the State, I had not heard about this demonstration at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise. Thank you for sharing this forthright description of the dangerous crowd-pleasing theater that is happening with the circle of extreme right players. It is frightening to see what damage their “leadership” has already done to public trust, and even more frightening to see that their drama may win enough votes to put them in office. The Idaho I have known, and Democratic ideals of a civil society are in big trouble, if we don’t wake up.

Dude is discredited immoral former Sherriff, no credibility should be given to an immoral quitter who directed his troops to batter and abuse people’s rights members peacefully protesting the illegal Idaho supreme court’s mandates suspending trial by jury. There was no rule of law under Raney, just his supervision of anarchy.

It’s interesting to see all this argument suddenly appear on Facebook. I have no idea what caused it or who these people are.
Why not start over, tell us what happened, who these people are, what they did or said to cause such heated debate, and when and where it all took place.
Then, and only then maybe a person could have an honest opinion.
Otherwise, just get out of my face!
I agree totally and I’m grateful for people who have the courage to stand up to bullies. You will get negative comments but look beyond those. We have to stop this hate and bullying in our country and our state.
